innovaphone PBX Qualified by Microsoft Unified Communications Interoperability Program

Sindelfingen, June 9th, 2009. innovaphone, a Microsoft Certified Partner, has successfully qualified their PBX IP6000 in the Microsoft Unified Communications Interoperability Program in the Direct SIP category. innovaphone is now listed on technet.microsoft.com/UCOIP as a qualified product for use with Microsoft Office Communications Server (R2). The Microsoft qualification is only awarded to products which meet the rigorous and extensive testing requirements and which conform to the specifications defined by Microsoft, based on established industry standards. The testing focus of the program is designed to ensure that vendors providing interoperability with Microsoft unified communications solutions do so in a consistent and supportable manner, including SIP and signaling support used with the Mediation Server role of Office Communications Server 2007 and the Unified Messaging role of Exchange Server 2007.

innovaphone customers may thus take advantage of full Office Communications Server 2007 availability, meaning that all telephony functions offered by the innovaphone PBX are interoperable with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007.  As a result, multitude of applications designed to streamline communication processes are available for business users. These include monitoring the real-time status of employees (based on calendar information, login/activity status and user preference), web conferencing and software-powered VoIP. The latter is considered to be the future of business communication and includes features such as dual forking: When an Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 softphone is set up as Enterprise Voice with PBX integration, an Office Communications Server 2007 user can have multiple destinations at the same time, for example simultaneous ringing on an IP number as well as on a mobile number routed over SIP.

Christoph Künkel, Director Product Management at innovaphone, sees considerable advantages in the interoperability of Office Communications Server 2007 and innovaphone PBX: “Complementing the Microsoft unified communications product suite with an innovaphone PBX results in an extensive state-of-the-art communication system offering the best features of both worlds.”
