Corporate communication changed over to innovaphone PBX: Stuttgarter Volksbank places its trust in local technology


Sindelfingen, 28 September 2009 – The Stuttgarter Volksbank is entrenched in the region with its reputation as the bank for private and commercial medium sized businesses. Tradition and technical progress are not incompatible: the financial institution provides all the products of a modern universal bank. The bank also counts on modern technology for its telephony. The communication infrastructure has been changed over to an IP PBX from innovaphone, the IP manufacturer based in Sindelfingen.


The decision to invest in a new, trendsetting and efficient communication infrastructure was triggered by the merger with the VR Bank Stuttgart and the fact that the telephone systems were heterogeneous. The central requirement was clear: all branch offices should be fitted out with a unified, centrally managed solution. There are several reasons why the solution from Sindelfingen was selected: Tobias Haussmann, Data Processing System Manager at Stuttgarter Volksbank explained, “Excellent voice quality, the fact that little training and installation time and effort was needed, being easy to handle and last but not least the cost factor were deciding factors in favour of innovaphone.“  The company Controlware GmbH based in Dietzenbach has a long history as network partner with Stuttgarter Volksbank and was responsible for the communication infrastructure changeover.

The sophisticated location concept within the PBX was another deciding factor in favour of the innovaphone PBX which fulfils the complex efficiency and security requirements of a financial institution with many branch offices. Benjamin Starmann, Sales Manager and Project Manager at innovaphone said, “The innovaphone PBX was a perfect match for the Stuttgarter Volksbank – the full potential of our location concept came to afore. From a technical point, we are very pleased to have been able to win the contract with this renowned and long-established local company.“ Technicians at Volksbank gradually integrated the individual branch offices into the new system over a period of eight months, supervised by Jörg Schrubbe, Network Administrator at Stuttgarter Volksbank. Mr Schrubbe commented ”the congeniality of the innovaphone solution is in implementing and looking after a PBX which is extremely simple to manage, which poses no problems for smooth migration, yet still provides all the features common to a modern PBX. Furthermore the economic factor is very persuasive.“

Building modifications and opening new branch offices are daily occurences for a dynamic financial institution – this is currently the case in Feuerbach and Weilimdorf. The innovaphone system poses no problems for such expansions - keyword “scalability”. “The innovaphone PBX is the most technically sophisticated system currently on the market: the innovaphone PBX is a cut above the rest at the moment concerning handling and administration time,”Jörg Schrubbe is convinced by the new solution.
