innovaphone Operator

The innovaphone Operator Version 9 has arrived, is looking rather splendid with its new features and its new look! The computer-based software operator accesses the waiting queue of the innovaphone PBX and enables calls to be switched easily - with or without consultation. Using the innovaphone Operator has become even easier. We will introduce you to a couple of innovations. Then you should convince yourself about the rest :-)

Everything available at a glance with the new busy lamp field

Switching destinations can now be displayed graphically thanks to the busy lamp field - either in the innovaphone Operator main window or separately. An operator thus has all the information needed concerning the availability of each contact. The operator can see who is available, who is busy, which presence is active and whether call diversions are active. An incoming call can be easily switched via drag&drop to the respective destination. For a better overview, individual contacts can be organised as needed in sub-busy lamp fields.

The new email integration ensures continuity throughout

If a contact (call destination) is not available, the operator can send callback notification emails within the organisation. There are two ways of doing this: either the operator calls up the call details and clicks on the email field, or the operator goes via the call journal, which lists all calls that have taken place, and can send a message by right clicking the missed call. Both procedures open a window that can be used to send callback notification messages.

Further features and information

Usability is much easier. It is now possible to operate the software only by using the keyboard, in fact only Enter, + and - keys are needed for standard applications. Would you like to find out more about it? Take a look at our Operator flyer and the short user guide. Furthermore, this delta list describes the basic changes from innovaphone Operator Version 8 to Version 9. Further information on the innovaphone Operator can be found here.

innovaphone in practise: Nordsee

Having been founded in 1896 as the fishing company “Deutsche Dampffischerei-Gesellschaft NORDSEE” in Bremerhaven, NORDSEE now operates more than 417 locations in Europe – 37 of which are in Austria – as well as in Russia and Dubai. NORDSEE’s business philosophy centres on far-sighted business management around the precious commodity of "fish"– and this is also the principle governing the company’s expansion of its telecommunications infrastructure. (…)

At the NORDSEE headquarters in Vienna, a virtual environment (VMware) was already in place, into which the new telephone system was supposed to be integrated. The innovaphone IPVA, an innovaphone PBX, perfectly suited for this situation, as it can be installed in a VMware environment as a virtual appliance. By implementing IPVA, larger installations were easily realisable – requiring just a small initial investment. (…)

Two analogue IP28 adapters serve to integrate 15 fax machines into the new infrastructure via old analogue lines. IP telephones, model IP222, were bought for all subscribers in the company headquarters. (…) “The end devices are perceived as very smart. Although the basic functionalities are different than those of the  traditional Alcatel system which had been used for over 15 years, all colleagues were familiar with the new operability after a short transition phase of under two. Incoming calls are, unless answered directly, transferred to the subscribers’ mobile phones,” Wolfgang Metzker says and adds with a grin: “Colleagues from other countries envy us because of our sophisticated end devices!” (…)

The stores will be added successively. At the moment, an IP302 was installed in one test store. This gateway is a combined VoIP gateway to the ISDN (local breakout) with an integrated gatekeeper and two analogue connections for fax machines and other analogue devices. This makes the IP302 an ideal innovaphone PBX system for smaller branches. In the coming year, it is intended that all 37 Austrian stores should gradually be integrated into the voice-over-IP network, following the same procedure. The approach is only to replace old systems once they stop working anyway, or when a store is renovated or face-lifted. (…)
