The final spurt has begun and CeBIT 2014 is just around the corner. Of course, innovaphone will be in Hanover again this year with exciting news and campaigns. Read more about our special offers at CeBIT in this edition of our innovaphone News and experience our new products live at stand C34 in Hall 13. 

It is visible everywhere, not only at the CeBIT stand: innovaphone is constantly evolving and this fact is also reflected in the increasing number of employees at innovaphone. Therefore, we would like to introduce some new members of the marketing team in this newsletter. New to the team are Verena Bansemer and Miriam Dornstädter, fully committed to driving innovaphone forward. Melissa Cardinio, who has already completed her training at innovaphone AG, joined the marketing team back in spring 2013.

CeBIT 2014: Good times for innovaphone

CeBIT has always been an important event for us. It is also a central platform to be in discussions with our clients and potential partners both from Germany and abroad. We want to use this again this year, because times are good for innovaphone:


In recent years, we have been able to win a wide number of well-established ICT system houses for our solutions. In addition, right now, in an unstable market environment, where many renowned telecommunications companies are often lacking a clear strategic direction, we have been able to position ourselves successfully as a reliable German manufacturer, which is familiar with the specific requirements of telephony in Europe.

Current news on the subject of the NSA affair and interception protection is being discussed across the world, and is worrying many people. The industry has even more uncertainties due to the many changes related to some big names, including Siemens and Aastra. The future of Alcatel is also a conversation topic. innovaphone, as a German manufacturer with a long tradition, stands out clearly in the market.

The overall market for innovaphone Unified Communications solutions is growing, and, due to high demand, we see good business opportunities for new and existing resellers. We will be offering a colourful bouquet of promotions for resellers, partners and end customers at CeBIT:


  • There is, for example, a "welcome package" including a black IP222 design phone for new iAS partners. Five PBX and UC licenses are also provided free of charge for their own needs.
  • New iARs can look forward to free training courses, where they only need to pay for the training hardware. Overall, they can save as 70% of the cost of certification! It has never been as easy to become an innovaphone partner!

See the new software V11 at CeBIT: the second generation of the innovaphone UC solution will be presented live in public for the very first time. We will also be showing the new VoIP gateway IP38: the first gateway to be equipped with an analogue connector. This allows innovaphone to serve markets such as Southern Europe, Eastern Europe, and the United States.



Full-text search also possible on IP phones!

Search for someone quickly in the contact database: In the Unified Communications client myPBX this is possible without further ado. A search field in myPBX enables you to search through contact information in an LDAP database without adhering to a specific order of attributes. This can be done by entering names, company names or phone numbers. More icons appear on the Unified Communications client myPBX when you move the mouse over a specific search result. The Info icon allows more details about this contact to be visible, such as the address, email address or position. All contact possibilities are also provided. One click is all you need to make the call or prepare an email. You can also add the selected contact to your own Favourites list.


Those who like to work directly with the phone unit will also enjoy it! ESTOS metadirectory enables full-text search also directly on IP phones. Use the phone keys as letters to directly enter words such as name or company name. The search result will be shown on the phone display and contains all entries that match the search term in several ways, for example starting with the same letter.

innovaphone in practise: ALBIS PLASTIC GmbH

A distributor with its own development and production capacity: ALBIS PLASTIC GmbH from Hamburg is one of the market leaders in the field of speciality plastics. The ALBIS PLASTICS GmbH has an extensive international distribution network and a workforce of about 1000 employees at 26 locations worldwide.


As the outdated hybrid telecommunications system was causing more and more technical problems, ALBIS PLASTIC decided in favour of a new, IP-based solution.

The company reviewed various VoIP systems by major suppliers before finally going for the innovaphone system, as it "convinced us with good value in terms of price and quality as well as the system’s innovative technical design. Especially the fact that the solution does not require additional servers is a clear advantage over comparable systems," Dr. Markus Söte, Senior Director IT and authorized signatory at ALBIS PLASTIC GmbH states.


Moreover, the innovaphone PBX meets the company´s requirements:

  • Low vulnerability of the system
  • Representation of a complex manager/assistant solution
  • Straight-forward networking of the ALBIS locations


In Hamburg, two innovaphone VoIP Gateways IP6000 were implemented as the innovaphone PBX, based on a Master-Standby configuration. This ensures that all functions are smoothly taken up by the other system in case of failure (failover). The smaller locations were linked to the headquarters via innovaphone IP800 VoIP Gateways, based on a Master-Slave configuration. This also ensures that all functions are taken over by the other system in the case of system failure - and this worldwide!


Phone calls between the individual locations are either placed via public telephone services or - at neutral cost - via MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching).

Overall, the implementation of the innovaphone solution went extremely smoothly. The employees are generally very happy with the new system. The improved availability of call lists, the central phone directory and the UC applications meet with particular approval. With regard to maintenance and manageability, the transition has clear advantages: "In contrast to the old system, we can now manage the system ourselves. This makes us much more flexible," Dr. Markus Söte adds.
