Highlights of Version 16 – Part I: A Workday with V16

Sending a chat message, joining a meeting, handling loads of files and many phone calls: These activities oftentimes run simultaneously, but rarely in one place.

With Version 16, this is about to change!

Communication, collaboration, and processes all flow together on a single platform that goes beyond simply connecting people: It structures your daily work and ensures that everything happens where it’s supposed to. In other words: No switching back and forth between tools, a broader overview, and a streamlined workflow.

This is How a Workday with Version 16 Looks Like

Here at innovaphone, we use the new version on a daily basis. Instead of simply providing feature lists, we would like to show you what our typical workdays with V16 look like:

All Tools in One Place: Connect is Your Center of Collaboration

This is a typical start to the day with V16: Your team is working on a project, and discussions on this project are taking place via chat. Questions come up, responses follow, someone responds directly to a specific message - yet everything remains well-organized. The new chat functions in Connect allow you to respond to a specific message directly, you can further use emojis, and forward content. There is no need to scroll through endless threads.

Then it’s time to make a decision. Instead of having a long discussion, simply launch a quick poll using Polls. A poll can be started directly within the discussion. It can be an anonymous poll, with an expiration date, and results are displayed in real time. The team will quickly know what to do. Democratic decisions are faster than ever.

In the meantime, someone needs a presentation. Instead of sending the presentation versions back and forth via e-mail, someone shares the presentation via Documents within the respective discussion. The entire team is able to work on the presentation simultaneously, all changes are saved straight away, avoiding any confusion on the latest version.

Then, a customer has reached out via the WhatsApp Business number. The Connector for WhatsApp redirects this WhatsApp message into the suitable channel of the Connect App. Your team sees the message immediately, and responds to this message right away, without switching between apps or having to check messages on a private cell phone.

A virtual meeting is coming up. The minutes of this online meeting are ready in no time: Conference Transcriptions automatically transcribes the myApps meeting and generates a summary with action items and decisions. These meeting minutes can be posted directly in Connect.

Business as Usual – Uninterrupted Phone Calls and Conferences

You get into the car and are on your way to a business appointment. You quickly need to sort out an important matter over the phone. The connection switches from Wi-Fi to cellular and there might even be a brief loss of signal when you drive through the tunnel. With Reconnect Calls, rest assured that the call remains active. No disconnections, no redialing, no “Hello? Can you hear me now?”

Meanwhile, the next online meeting is about to begin. There will be more participants than expected. Fortunately, the myApps meeting is scalable thanks to the Conference Scaler. Resources do not need to be allocated manually, and there are no technical limits.

Further improvements are taking place behind the scenes: Enhanced PBX performance and storage optimizations ensure that the system is quickly up and running after a reboot. Large installations benefit from more stable operations and shorter backup times.

Last but not least: The Phone Apps can be fully operated using the keyboard, and they support screen readers - making the apps accessible to colleagues with visual impairments.

You can also rely on the system in critical situations: Real-Time Text (RTT) transmits voice, text, and location information in real time during emergency calls, ensuring accessible emergency communication in accordance with EU standards.

New Devices for the Modern Workplace

Back at the office, you have more to dos waiting for you: Documentation of your working times, check appointments and availability, accept phone calls – you can do all of this using one single device. The IP270 brings the entire myApps platform to a modern desk phone with 7-inch touch display. Make phone calls, access apps, initiate meetings via the intuitive UI and without extra computer. The IP270 is your ideal companion for busy workdays.

However, not everyone works in a typical office: In the production area, outdoors, at the port and even on high seas. The IP17x series is ideal for challenging surroundings. Sturdy, weatherproof up to IP66, easy to install via PoE, and with DNV certifivation for the maritime industry. If a device is approved for use on a ship, it will certainly withstand the conditions of a factory floor.
