If you recall our very 1st blog post, you may remember the innovaphone blog team. Now, we are delighted to announce that from now on, there will be eight bloggers @innovaphone. A big welcome to our latest member in the team: Cecilia Camacho Riedl.
Cecilia is from Brazil and joined the innovaphone marketing team in October 2021. Cecilia has taken over many tasks here, one major task includes translating and editing our innovaphone website in Portuguese. Have you already noticed that the Brazilian flag was added to our language menu at the top right? Barely a new member of the team, our new colleague Cecilia is already celebrating her blog premiere: innovaphone recently exhibited at the Rio Oil and Gas in Rio de Janeiro.
The 20th edition of the Rio Oil & Gas took place from September 26 – 29th, 2022, at the Olympic Boulevard in Rio de Janeiro. This event is globally one of the largest exhibitions of the oil industry, organized by the Instituto Brasileiro de Petróleo e Gás (Ibp). Nine international pavilions - including pavilions representing the countries Germany, Austria, France, Italy and Norway – participated in the exhibition which counted more than 350 exhibitors and 58,000 visitors. A large stage provided the ideal setting for conferences, key notes and industry discussions with new business developments. innovaphone was on site with the partner Wecom. Alexander (innovaphone) and João Paulo talk about their impressions of the exhibition.
Alexander: Our objective was to introduce and present innovaphone with its comprehensive product portfolio on collaborative work and communications solutions to the Rio Oil & Gas as well as the Brazilian oil industry.
João Paulo: In addition to advertising the brand, we also wanted to inform the public on our aspirations of expanding on the Brazilian market to strengthen the business.
Alexander: innovaphone already exhibited in 2018 at the Rio Oil & Gas. However, this year’s event was not comparable. Right at the coast of Rio de Janeiro, at the pier Mauá, we were given the extraordinary opportunity to visit and view a “swimming gas station” from Norway.
Within the exhibition halls, I felt a bit like a fish on dry land, amidst all the drills, pipes, engines, machines and industrial machinery, presenting our collaborative work and communication solution for the maritime industry. It was such a positive experience to being part of this grandiose exhibition. Due to the size and great number of visitors, this exhibition reminded me of the German CeBIT. The CeBIT was an internationally renowned telecommunications & IT trade fair that took place annually in Hanover. Once the CeBIT closed its doors for good in 2018, it left a great void with the recurring millions of visitors. Our exhibition stand was in the hall of the German Foreign Chamber of Commerce (AHK), located in the vicinity of the Petrobas stand. That generated a lot of visitor traffic passing our stand. We had a lot of visitors who were surprised by our product portfolio. No matter what industry or sector you work in, everybody needs to communicate. Communication is key and innovaphone stands out with keeping communications so flexible while simultaneously providing versatile security features. When João Paulo presents the innovaphone myApps platform to the public, he sums up the essence of the concept: “We offer a product with the trust seal made in Germany, yet you have all the freedom to adapt it to your Brazilian business needs.”
João Paulo: innovaphone and Wecom are a great match, with distinctive approaches to the public which emphasized the thriving partnership. Customers interested in service and support were very pleased to learn more about our business structure and processes.
Alexander: We have special solutions by innovaphone that are produced specifically for the oil market and the maritime industry, with the DNV approval already provided. We were very pleased with the response from the general public. IT resellers, platform operators, logistics companies, pipe manufacturers, large operators as well as lawyers showed great interest in our solutions.
João Paulo: The brand innovaphone is still largely unknown with the Brazilian public. This exhibition gave us the opportunity to present the enormous potential of our myApps platform. One major advantage being the customization of solutions to individually suit the specific customer needs and we were happy to demonstrate this on site. We do know that this is a very powerful and demanding segment, yet we were given the clear perception of fully meeting the set requirements.
Alexander: It was fabulous to see that sustainability and decarbonization were topics of high importance, emphasized by numerous exhibitors. Due to the commitment of the oil and gas industry in Brazil to implement the energy transition and decarbonization, Rio Oil & Gas received the neutralization certificate from Plataforma Block C1 for the CO2 emissions2 generated at the event. The aspect of sustainability reached this industry, too: It is an aspect highly valued with us at innovaphone.
João Paulo: At the end of the exhibition, we could identify some business opportunities and establish contacts for possible partnerships. I am sure that it was very much worth attending the event. It was a great opportunity to show that innovaphone is another leading manufacturer who is not only active in the European market but also in Brazil. With upcoming events, we would like to expand this brand presence as well as our business relationships.
