Options of Acquiring & Operating innovaphone Software Licenses

1. Buying and / or Renting Software Licenses (On Premises or from the Cloud)

Most innovaphone software licenses can be purchased as well as rented (on premises and from the cloud). Please check the innovaphone price list to see whether the respective license is available for purchase or for rental. Purchased licenses are managed in the portal my.innovaphone while innovaphone rental licenses are selected and configured in the Devices app within innovaphone myApps. In this case, no licenses are ordered with innovaphone. Instead, a certain number of innovaphone Service Credits (iSC) are uploaded to the Devices app. For long-term use of an innovaphone rental or cloud installation, it is recommended to conclude a contract on the Automatic iSC Reloading Service within the portal my.innovaphone. Once the rental licenses have been configured, they will be required for the operation of the respective products. Purchased iSC are also credited to the Devices app in order to activate and operate the licenses. When renting licenses, the iSC are always charged accurately down to the second (iSC - innovaphone Service Credits).

This billing model enables full flexibility in terms of applications and users which are to be operated on the myApps platform. It is equally applicable to rental on premises as well as from the cloud.

2. Mixing Rented and Bought Licenses

It is possible to mix rented and bought licenses and to use these within the same installation. This is a great option to flexibly add licenses to an already existing installation or if a corporate decision has been made to switch to a pure OPEX model in the future. In this case, bought licenses can still be used and new licenses are then added in form of rental licenses.

innovaphone Rental contracts are concluded in the portal my.innovaphone. For long-term use of a rental installation or a cloud installation, it is highly recommended to also conclude a contract for the Automatic iSC Reloading Service, also within the portal my.innovaphone. With this service, iSC are uploaded directly to the Devices app in order to activate licenses, and to keep licenses activated.

Rental licenses do not need to be placed under SSA since they always include the authorization to use the latest software. However, if licenses are purchased, it is recommended to conclude a Software Service Agreement (Software Service Agreement and Software Service Credits) for these bought licenses.
