Nor-Shipping 2025: innovaphone Presents Communication Solutions for the Maritime Industry

From June 2nd to June 6th, 2025, all the industry leaders of the maritime industry met up at Nor-Shipping 2025 in Oslo, one of the world’s most important trade fairs to exhibit current trends and innovative solutions of the maritime sector for the use on high seas.

Over 1000 exhibitors from 50 nations welcomed more than 60,000 visitors this year. innovaphone joined forces with the technology partners Bosch, Cobs and Snom, exhibiting at a joint booth in the "German Pavillon" of the German-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce. Participating in this major exhibition was absolutely worth it! We enjoyed many interesting talks and high-profile networking within the international maritime community.

Our all-new prototypes of our IP17x series for maritime intercoms were met with a lot of interest. Whether oil rig, wind turbines, ferries, cruise ships, fisher boats or floating hospitals, all these scenarios require high-availability communication solutions that meet the very unique challenges of the maritime sector.

There is so much more to offer than just telephony: Chat, video conferences, wireless, alarm systems, hotel applications – all these tools are provided by collaborative, future-ready communication platforms. The specific requirements for on-board communication are as varied as the areas of use. As cyber security is becoming increasingly important in the maritime sector, the focus was on solutions that are developed and manufactured in Europe.

Our maritime experts Alexander Geer (Area Sales Manager UK / Brazil) and Richard Olsson (Area Sales Manager Scandinavia) share their impressions of the trade fair with us:

Has the participation at Nor-Shipping 2025 for innovaphone paid off?

Richard: “Absolutely! Our participation two years ago, it was more of a getting to know each other. This year, specific possibilities for future collaboration were formed. We showcased our solution as a modern alternative for communication on high seas to an international audience of experts.”

Alex: “We are very happy with the outcome of the exhibition and consider the established contacts as an important step to our development and expansion in the maritime sector. We very much look forward to cultivating these new relationships and working together to implement innovative solutions for maritime communication.

What was your main focus for Nor-Shipping 2025?

Richard: "We wanted to show that our system architecture and our latest additions to the product portfolio are extremely well-suited to meet the unique requirements of the maritime industry: Made in Europe, standards-based, certified, secure."

Alex: "Our main objective was to present or new series of intercom devices. These are the last missing element for a fully equipped, secure and modern communication infrastructure on board of ships.  We also want to push digitization in the maritime industry: On the one hand, we integrate existing applications from technology partners onto our platform and, on the other, we develop new solutions for communication on the high seas."

Key Takeaway:

Nor-Shipping 2025 impressively demonstrated that the future of maritime communication is digital, connected and secure. We are proud to meet the challenging requirements for the maritime industry with our innovative solutions "made in Europe".
