Breaking news: New icon for the myPBX client!


The innovaphone goldfish is leaving the myPBX client to make way for our new myPBX icon. But don’t worry, innovaphone hasn’t pulled the plug on the innovaphone goldfish!


myPBX stands for unified communication and collaboration, which is now reflected in our new myPBX icon. An abstract icon shows two people who are communicating, symbolizing the close and simplified cooperation provided by myPBX.

innovaphone and Bechtle Rottenburg supported the German Protestant Church

The German Protestant Church Congress took place this year in Stuttgart from June 3 to 7. The Johanniter supported the congress with some 1,000 volunteers taking care of medical services, as well as looking after children and accompanying people with disabilities. The smooth organisation of such a large-scale event requires a trouble-free communication infrastructure.


innnovaphone and the Bechtle IT system House Rottenburg provided at no charge a temporary telephone system with a call center solution and free support. A temporary slave PBX based on an innovaphone VoIP gateway IP6000  was added to the existing master PBX at the Johanniter office in Esslingen. About 20 innovaphone IP telephones of the types IP200 and IP230 were connected to it. The innovaphone Queue Monitor was also implemented. Bechtle provided the entire hardware infrastructure, innovaphone the appropriate test licenses and special software. Thus the large-scale assignment at the German Protestant Church Congress in Stuttgart was perfectly supported by a professional communication infrastructure.


innovaphone Call Center Connector - the smart connection to Voxtron software

Our technology partner, Voxtron has a new feature in its product range: the innovaphone Call Connector. It connects the innovaphone PBX intelligently to the Voxtron call distribution and generates a very smart solution.


At remote locations, such as, for example, a branch structure, the innovaphone Call Connector recognises that the decision where to route the call to is made on the Central Voxtron communication center. The calls are processed here locally on the site’s gateway. Music on hold is played there, for example, if the caller must wait a little longer. This is stored locally on the gateway.


The potential savings in terms of bandwidth for voice data and the no longer required remote server systems make the innovaphone Call Connector particularly smart. This especially reduces the operating expenses as well as the procurement costs. The innovaphone Call Connector also provides increased reliability as the innovaphone PBX can distribute by itself should it not be able to reach the Central Voxtron Server (WAN or server failure). Thanks to storing the audio files, calls can be distributed almost as usual tin an emergency. It is even possible with local innovaphone Reporting to evaluate clean call distribution statistics for the down time.


The advantages of the innovaphone Call Connector is the optimization of the integration of remote locations with call center agents through:

  • cost savings by reducing the remote servers and the operation thereof
  • low bandwidth requirements (no voice data over WAN lines)
  • maximum reliability
  • smart hunt group: A local innovaphone Reporting is available for possible outage periods.

innovaphone in practice: TEDi

The retail company TEDi opts for a communications solution by innovaphone and connects its branches across multiple locations.

The non-food local retailer TEDi, located in Dortmund, Germany, offers products for daily needs such as toys and stationery, drugstore products, DIY products and much more. TEDi has 1,400 branches with around 10,000 employees across Europe, in countries such as Slovakia, Austria, Slovenia and the Netherlands as well as Germany.


TEDi had seen strong company growth in recent years making it necessary to adjust the communication infrastructure. The software version of the existing Siemens HiPath 4000 would have had to be updated to include new licenses for additional subscribers. Moreover, the integration of modern applications such as Presence, Operator or a CTI solution for the existing system would have incurred immense technical efforts.



„The vertical integration of Microsoft in the innovaphone myPBX UC client convinced us. Presence indicators can be shown, for example, directly from your Outlook calendar. Callers from your contacts are also displayed and contacts can be selected directly from Outlook and also using certain keyboard shortcuts from other applications“, says Thomas Hauck and continues: „Being able to link our switchboards abroad across sites with the innovaphone PBX was a crucial point for us.“


„The staff loved the end devices and the myPBX UC client immediately – and the administrators were taken with the handling of the innovaphone PBX. In this respect, we can say satisfaction is high“, says Thomas Hauck. Due to the positive balance, it is only logical that in the near future more company departments abroad should be equipped with the innovaphone solution and connected to the corporate headquarters.
